Oil pulling has been in existence since as far back as the ancient world, it was mentioned in Charaka Samhita, an early Ayuverdic text dating to roughly 300 to 500 CE.

It was believed to have been first introduced to the modern world in 1992 by Dr. F. Karach. Both the doctor and the old information dug up on Oil pulling claim that it can perform health miracles, ranging from heart diseases, hormonal disorders and digestive problems.

While these claims have not been proved by any scientific research, it has so many benefits for the mouth which includes keeping the mouth clean and bacteria free and getting rid of fungi, viruses and parasites.

Oil pulling is best done on an empty stomach first thing in the morning.

Spoon a tablespoon or organic, cold pressed vegetable or coconut oil into your mouth and swish it around for about twenty minutes before you spit it out.

Do NOT swallow the oil because whatever toxin in your mouth would have been pulled out at this point and so makes this unhealthy for consumption.

Brush your teeth thoroughly after the procedure, advisably with a separate brush laid aside for this purpose. Clean the brush with (3%) hydrogen peroxide each day after the procedure.

Note: This procedure has been reported to be slightly difficult at the early stages, considering the fact that the oil might have difficulties staying in the mouth, but it is said to get better as time goes by
